Top 4 Picks compares products and shops you buy online and names four picks per category, each with a defined role. The site is edited by Martin Pokorný, who is responsible for what gets published and for correcting it when it is wrong.
Who Martin is
Martin has one hobby: finding the best version of whatever he is about to buy. Not the cheapest, and not the one everybody already owns. The best one for the particular job.
It is an expensive way to be curious. The research nearly always ends in a purchase, and the purchases pile up. His basement is the evidence, and there is usually something new on the way to join them.
This site is that habit pointed somewhere useful. The question he asks himself before buying anything is the question every page here answers: for this specific problem, which one is actually the best, and who is it best for.
How the content is made, including the AI part
Content on this site is drafted with AI assistance under human editorial review. We say that openly because you should be able to judge the work knowing how it was made.
Three things keep that honest:
- Facts come before text. Prices, limits and features are collected from the vendor pricing pages and documentation, recorded as structured data with a source URL and a date, and only then is anything written. Writing first and filling in numbers afterwards is how prices get invented, so we do it in the opposite order.
- No claim without a source. If a number has no source and no date, it does not get published.
- No claim of testing that did not happen. We write what we compared, not what we tested. When something is based on vendor documentation, the page says so and gives the date.
What we will not publish
- Invented user reviews, testimonials, names or user counts.
- Star ratings, which imply user reviews we do not have.
- Any ranking ordered by how much commission it pays.
- A price without the date we verified it.
How we pay for it
Affiliate commission, disclosed on every page that carries a monetised link. Read the full disclosure and the rating methodology.
