Stock Photos & Media questions

Do I own a stock photo once I license it?
No. You buy a licence to use it, usually perpetual, and the photographer keeps the copyright. What the licence allows, how many copies and how many people, is the part to read.
What happens to my downloads when I cancel?
Images you licensed and already used stay licensed. Unused downloads are another matter: every library that rolls them over deletes them when the subscription ends, and Dreamstime's Unlimited plan ends the licence for any new use on the same day.
Are free stock photos cleared for advertising?
Not automatically. A free licence covers the photographer's copyright. A recognisable face, a logo or an artwork in the shot can need a release the free licence does not give you.
Do you test these libraries?
We compare them against the vendor pricing pages, licences and terms, read on the date shown on every page. We do not claim testing that did not happen.
